Service Description
Tongue and pulse diagnosis are ancient diagnostic systems originating in the East but there are positive indicators that these techniques have been used in various forms and extent in most traditional cultures. Fundamentally, traditional systemic information is obtained by both observation and feeling. One develops the ability to not only identify imbalances but also trace the source of pathology. The course consists of both practical and home study sessions depending on the skill acquisition levels of the student, there are a maximum of 10 practical sessions available. The majority of students are able to perform basic diagnoses from the first session and should not take more than six practicals and approximately 500 pulses taken and 200 tongues observed in the individual’s own clinical sessions. Educational requirements; Basic anatomy and physiology (approximately 1st year university level) or the Certificate in herbalism, indigenous herbalism, anatomy and physiology. (C.hiap)
